Dr. Chikage Noishiki Receives American Heart Association Career Development Award

Dr. Chikage Noishiki, an Instructor in the Sayed Lab within the Division of Vascular Surgery, has been awarded an American Heart Association (AHA) Career Development Award.
This grant supports highly promising healthcare and academic professionals, in the early years of one’s first professional appointment, to explore innovative questions or pilot studies that will provide preliminary data and training necessary to assure the applicant’s future success as a research scientist.
Dr. Noishiki's research focuses on investigating the mechanisms underlying varicose vein disease using induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-based models. This work aims to identify patient-specific cellular and molecular drivers of vascular dysfunction and to support the development of novel therapeutic targets for venous disease.
