Dr. Anand Athavale Awarded 2026 AVF-Jobst Research Grant

Dr. Anand Athavale, Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Vascular Surgery at Stanford, has been selected to receive the prestigious 2026 AVF-JOBST Clinical Research Grant Award from the American Venous Forum (AVF).

His proposed project, titled “Redefining Conservative Care for Chronic Venous Disease Through Weight Loss,” was chosen following a competitive review process conducted by members of the AVF Research Committee.

The research aims to advance understanding and treatment approaches for chronic venous disease, emphasizing weight loss as a key factor in improving patient outcomes.

The award provides funding over two years, supporting the project period from March 4, 2026, through March 4, 2028.

The 2026 AVF-JOBST Clinical Research Grant Award will be formally presented to Dr. Athavale during the AVF 2026 Annual Meeting in Denver, Colorado, at the awards session on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
