Vascular Surgery MCL Faculty
The Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery at the Stanford University School of Medicine is seeking an academic vascular surgeon to join the Division. Applications will be reviewed beginning on August 20, 2019. We expect the successful candidate to have an allocated time of 50% to clinical activity, 40% research with research interests in either basic/translational discovery or health services research, and 10% to teaching. This Assistant Professor/Associate Professor faculty position in the Medical Center Line (MCL) will concentrate efforts mainly at VA Palo Alto Healthcare System, with some fraction of time at Stanford Hospital (percentage to be determined by the specific circumstances of the successful candidate). Preference will be given to early-career candidates.
The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Medical Center Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, and scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. The candidate should have an MD or MD/ PhD with board certification or board eligibility in Vascular Surgery. Demonstrated expertise in basic, translational or health services vascular research is expected, with an emphasis on a trajectory towards extramural funding and career development as a surgeon-scientist. The successful candidate will share the educational responsibilities and clinical coverage of the Vascular Surgery Service of the Division of Vascular Surgery in the Department of Surgery.

Vascular Surgery/CVI UTL Faculty
The Department of Surgery, Division of Vascular Surgery and the Cardiovascular Institute seek a faculty member in the University Tenure Line (UTL) at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Clinical effort may or may not be required for the candidate, based on their professional training and career focus.
Candidates with expertise in all facets of biomedical research (discovery, translational and/or clinical science) are encouraged to apply.
This faculty position will be split between the Division of Vascular Surgery and the Cardiovascular Institute (CVI; cvi.stanford.edu). This joint appointment has been proposed to provide the successful candidate with seamless access to the robust infrastructure of both groups and enhance the collaborations that already exist between the Division of Vascular Surgery and the Cardiovascular Institute.
