ONE YEAR FACULTY POSITION- Stanford Healthcare at Palo Alto Veterans Affairs

The Division of Vascular Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine is seeking a BE/BC vascular surgeon for a one-year appointment to join our multi-surgeon practice at the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) located in Palo Alto, CA.  Applications will be collected until June 30, 2020. 

The position to be filled will begin in August 2020 and end no later than August 2021.

This one-year position be an ideal opportunity for new graduates whose immediate plans have been disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, or more experienced surgeons looking for transitional opportunities as they consider new career directions in 2021 and beyond.

The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Clinical Educator Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching and scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine. The successful candidate will share the educational responsibilities of the Division of Vascular Surgery in the Department of Surgery, including clinical and didactic teaching responsibilities for medical students, residents and fellows system-wide. Additionally, on-call responsibilities will include clinical coverage at Stanford Health Care/Stanford Hospitals and Clinics.

The candidate should be board certified or board-eligible in Vascular Surgery. Eligibility requirements include  a Vascular Surgery Fellowship or 0+5 Residency; and a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation® (RPVI®) Certification.
