  • July 3, 2007 - Information on the Stanford Bio-X program, an interdisciplinary bio-related research program connected to biology and medicine. Fellowship application deadline is August 15, 2007.
  • June 18, 2007 - NHLBI Research Career Development Program in Vascular Medicine: The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) recently funded a K12 center at Stanford University to offer comprehensive clinical research training for physicians wanting to specialize in vascular medicine, an evolving discipline devoted to clinical evaluation and management of individuals with arterial, venous and lymphatic diseases.
  • May 15, 2007 - Good luck to all applicants in the Vascular Surgery Fellowship Match. Results will be available Wednesday, May 23. You can find more information about the Stanford Vascular Fellowship here.
  • May 10, 2007- This year's Fellowship Graduation dinner will be held at the Peninsula Golf and Country Club on Friday, June 22, 2007 at 6:30 pm.
  • March 20, 2007 - The Fellowship Interview date will be held this week. We are looking forward to meeting a very competitive group of applicants from across the country. We will convene Thursday evening at 6:30 pm at California Cafe in Palo Alto for dinner, and the interview process will begin Friday morning March 23 at 7:30 am in the Goodman Simulation Center located across the hall from the Vascular Center. A final agenda is available, with each applicant scheduled to interview with three faculty members. The rest of the day will involve tours of the VA and Stanford, speaking with the current fellows, and working on an endovascular simulator.   • February 13, 2007 - Congratulations to Maureen Tedesco, research resident in Dr. Dalman's lab, for winning 2nd place in the clinical research category of the International Society of Endovascular Specialists Vascular Fellow's Competition in Scottsdale, AZ. Her paper was entitled "Risk Factors for Developing Post-Procedural Microemboli Following Carotid Interventions."
  • February 13, 2007 - Congratulations to Craig Goergen, graduate student in Dr. Taylor's and Dr. Zarins' lab, for winning 1st place in the basic science research category of the International Society of Endovascular Specialists Vascular Fellow's Competition in Scottsdale, AZ. His paper was entitled "Increased Arterial Abdominal Aortic Wall Motion: Possbile Role in Aneurysm Pathogenesis and Design of Endovascular Devices."

  • January 9, 2007 - We are currently reviewing application submitted on ERAS for our Vascular Surgery Fellowship to begin July 2008. Our Interview Day is scheduled for March 23, 2007.   • Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms: Simple Treatment Or Prevention (AAA: STOP) is currently enrolling patients.  The aim of AAA: STOP is to determine whether an exercise program reduces the rate of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm enlargement and diminishes blood markers of disease progression.  One of the main purposes of the study is to test the efficacy of exercise as a non-surgical treatment of small AAAs.   • The Biodesign Innovation Fellowship Program is a 1-2 year intensive experience in Medical Device Technology Development. The Fellowship is open to international and national applicants. Applications for the 2007-08 year are available on the website.
  • Congratulations to the Vascular Fellowship applicants that have been invited for an interview on Friday, March 24, 2006. A preliminary agenda of the day's events is now available. Plan on arriving at Stanford at 7 am and being here through dinner. We look forward to meeting you in person!
