Stanford Vascular LaboratoryThe Stanford Vascular Laboratory was created in October 1993 in conjunction with the Division of Vascular Surgery. The laboratory is accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL). It is accredited in the areas of extracranial cerebrovascular, peripheral arterial, venous, and visceral. The Vascular Sonography staff is clinically skilled and RVT credentialed by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). The laboratory accepts one student per year from a BS program in Vascular Technology from the Oregon Institute of Technology for a one-year clinical externship in vascular technology. The Stanford Vascular Laboratory is a full service dedicated vascular diagnostic laboratory utilizing "state- of- the- art" color duplex ultrasound imagers and various indirect testing equipment. The laboratory has experienced growth every year since it's inception and performs approximately 4000 examinations annually. Our referral base includes clinic outpatients, community physician referrals, and a limited number of hospital inpatients. We perform a full range of vascular examinations in cerebrovascular, peripheral arterial, venous, and visceral duplex examinations. Additionally, the laboratory is actively involved in vascular conferences, teaching, research, and publishing in areas involving diagnostic vascular ultrasound. In November of 1999 the Vascular Center (Laboratory and Clinic) received the Malinda Mitchell Quality Service Award from Stanford Health Services. |
